MPTC Tour of Luzon 2026 Kicks Off in Calatagan A Heritage in Motion

The highly anticipated MPTC Tour of Luzon 2026 has officially begun with th
the Opening Ceremony and Team Presentation at CaSoBe in Calatagan. This yea
year's edition promises to be an action-packed and grueling 14-stage race, 
dubbed A Heritage in Motion. The event brings together 13 teams – six for
foreign and seven local – showcasing their impressive and shiny jerseys.

The Journey Begins

Patrick Pato Gregorio, Chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission, will
will address the 91 riders from various nationalities at the program. MPTC 
Tour of Luzon Chief Organizer and CEO Arrey Perez will also take center sta
stage to share his vision for the event. The ceremony will culminate with a
an incredible fireworks display on the shore of Balayan Bay.

A Heritage in Motion

The MPTC Tour of Luzon 2026 is more than just a racing event – it's a celeb
celebration of the country's rich cultural heritage. The race features Hors
Hors Category climbs, including a first-time ascent from Candon City to Bes
Bessang Pass in Cervantes (Ilocos Norte) on Stage 10.

International Participation

The competition will see international teams such as LCW UAE Cycle, Malaysi
Malaysia National Team, CCN Factory Racing from Hong Kong, and Ponti Wijaya
Wijaya Racing Team from Indonesia joining forces with local teams like 7-El
7-Eleven Cliqq Roadbike Philippines, Go For Gold Philippines, and defending
defending champion MPTC DriveHub.

Local Flavor

Philippine continental teams will be represented by Standard Insurance Phil
Philippines, DReyna Orion Cement Pro Cycling Team, Excellent Noodles, and P
Pangasinan Cycling Team. The event is supported by the MVP Group, Philippin
Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., and aligned with the National Sports
Sports Tourism Inter-Agency Committee.

In Memoriam

The ceremony will also pay tribute to the late cycling godfather Albert Lin
Lina, whose family – wife Sylvia and daughter Donna – are expected to atten
attend. This year's event is dedicated to his memory, ensuring that his leg
legacy lives on in the world of cycling.
