The ITCZ refers to a region near the equator where the trade winds of the northern and southern hemispheres converge, often carrying scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Weakening Northeast Monsoon

In its weakening form, the northeast monsoon, also known as 'amihan', is affecting Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley. Partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated light rains are expected within 24 hours.

No Tropical Cyclones Expected

According to Pagasa, the country remains storm-free in the coming days, as no tropical cyclones have been monitored forming or entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
