Title Taguig Bust Seizes P510K Worth of Shabu, Arrests Two Suspected Drug Pushers
The Southern Police District (SPD) has made another significant breakthrough in its fight against drugs with a successful buy-bust operation in Taguig City. On Friday evening, SPD operatives, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, arrested two suspected drug pushers and seized an estimated P510,000 worth of suspected shabu.
The operation, launched at approximately 805 p.m., was carried out by the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) in collaboration with the District Intelligence Division (DID), Sub-Station 9 of the Taguig City Police Station, and the Taguig Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU). The suspects, a 33-year-old technician and a 44-year-old unemployed man, were apprehended on-site.
During the operation, authorities seized approximately 75 grams of suspected shabu contained in a knot-tied plastic bag and a heat-sealed sachet. Additionally, they recovered a brown envelope, a black Samsung Android phone, one marked P1,000 bill, and 24 pieces of P1,000 boodle money used as buy-bust cash.
The confiscated substances will be submitted to the SPD Forensic Unit for laboratory testing to confirm the identity of the drugs. Criminal complaints have been filed against the suspects before the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office for violations of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), 11 (possession) and 26 (attempt/conspiracy) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The success of this operation is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the SPD to rid our communities of illegal drugs. As Acting District Director PBGEN Joseph Arguelles noted, This successful operation demonstrates the swift action and dedication of the Southern Police District to ensure peace, order, and a drug-free environment for all.
