US, Iran agree to 11th-hour truce after Trump apocalyptic threats

The United States and Iran agreed to a cease-fire beginning Friday at noon [K
Middle Eastern time, which is just hours away as we speak. This agreement c[1D[K
comes after a week of intense tension surrounding US-led airstrikes in Iraq[4D[K
Iraq and Syria that killed Iranian-backed forces fighting ISIS.
As you may have heard by now, the United States carried out strikes Friday [K
targeting Iranian-backed forces. The strike was done to defend Iraqi milita[6D[K
military bases from an armed attack.
The attacks came in response to an earlier rocket barrage against American [K
personnel outside of Baghdad. There is a major concern for Iran's actions i[1D[K
in Iraq and Syria because they are trying to expand their power there.
President Donald Trump has been making apocalyptic threats toward Iran for [K
the past few days, which have caused Iranians to feel threatened. The Irani[5D[K
Iranian president even called President Trump ignorant.
