The Thrill of Victory Mark John Lexer Galedo's Triumphant Return to Competitive Cycling

At 39 years young, Mark John Lexer Galedo has proven that age is just a number when it comes to competitive cycling. His recent silver medal win in the Masters 40-44 category of individual time trial (ITT) at the Asian Cycling Confederation Road Championships in Phitsanulok, Thailand, is a testament to his dedication and passion for the sport.

A New Chapter Unfolds

Galedo's ITT victory marks a new chapter in his competitive cycling journey. After retiring from elite racing in 2024, he focused on coaching the national team, but it seems that the urge to compete wasn't quite satisfied just yet. His impressive time of 28 minutes and 25.2 seconds in the 21-kilometer race demonstrates that he still possesses the skills and determination to be among the best.

A Family Affair

Galedo's success extends beyond his individual achievement. His family has been an integral part of his cycling journey, with his son also competing in the championships. In fact, Roderic Calla, another Filipino cyclist, won a bronze medal in the Masters 45-49 category, making it a proud moment for the Galedo family.

Ecstatic About the Victory

Galedo was overjoyed about his victory, saying, I'm incredibly happy and inspired to see our flag being raised here. His ecstatic response is a testament to the pride and fulfillment that comes with representing one's country in international competitions.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
