of tea and crumpets cats have
taken over as Britains
favourite pet With a
staggering 77 million felines
frolicking across the nation
it seems that dogs are no
longer top dog pun intended In
fact our canine companions
cant help but sit up and beg
for attention with their tails
wagging in dismay 66 million
of them to be exactAs we
merrily munch on scones and
discuss the latest
cattastrophe I couldnt help
but think of Lewis Carrolls
whimsical poem Jabberwocky You
know that delightful ditty
about a fantastical creature
with a vorpal blade and a
penchant for slaying frumious
bandersnatches Ah yes It seems
our feline friends have indeed
slain the competition at
least in terms of British
affectionBut why oh why have
cats become the new monarchs
of the pet kingdom Is it their
luscious locks that resemble
golden crowns Their cunning
nature honed from centuries of
pouncing on unsuspecting mice
Or perhaps its simply because
theyre just so
adorableWhatever the reason
one thing is certain Britains
love affair with cats has
reached new heights And we
cant help but purrfectly adore
them for it So heres to our
feline friends may their
whiskers forever twitch with
excitement and their paws
forever land softly on our

have outnumbered dogs in

million or roughly 20000 more
than the population of London
