PerspectiveAs I curl up in my
favorite spot surrounded by
plush blankets and warm
sunlight I am reminded that as
a cat sleep is not just a
necessity its a way of life
In fact studies show that on
average cats spend around 70
of their lives snoozing Yes
you read that right 70 Its a
staggering statistic but one
that I am more than happy to
attest toFor us felines sleep
pertain to our very existence
Its not just a means of
recharging our batteries its
an essential component of our
daily routine After all whats
the point of being a cat if
you cant spend most of your
time lounging in the sun or
snoozing in your favorite
blanketBut lets get down to
business why do we cats sleep
so much Well for one its
because our bodies are
designed for relaxation As
natural predators we dont need
to expend as much energy as
other animals which means we
can conserve our strength and
recover from those long
hunting sessions ahem my
humans call them
playtimeAnother reason we
sleep so much is that it helps
us process memories and learn
new skills Yep you read that
right cats are learning and
remembering things even when
were snoring away Its like our
brains are hardwired to store
up all the important cattitude
lessons from our feline
friends and enemiesNow I know
what youre thinking But what
about all those times you wake
up in the middle of the night
and start meowing loudly Ah
yes thats just my way of
saying Hey human Wake up and
feed me already Its not like
Im having some kind of feline
existential crisis or anything
although lets be real it can
feel like that sometimesIn

our very being as cats Its an
integral part of our daily
routine allowing us to
recharge process memories and
