Sweden charges man for selling wife to 120 men

Toby Sheldon was charged by Swedish authorities with human trafficking after being accused of selling his then-wife to 120 men in exchange for tattoos. He has denied the allegations, but if found guilty, he could face up to six years in prison and a $70,000 fine.
The couple's divorce was finalized in November, but that didn't stop prosecutors from pursuing Sheldon for a crime they believe occurred while they were still married. According to Sweden's Aftonbladet newspaper, the 34-year-old man had sex with up to 60 women and slept with more than 100 men since turning 18.
In an interview with Swedish tabloid Expressen, Sheldon said his then-wife was very happy about their unconventional arrangement and that she only asked him not to have unprotected sex with other men. He also claimed that he never received any money for the transactions.
We just found out that this is something we both want, Sheldon told Expressen. It became a really good solution. We were very happy.
The couple's tattoo artist, Magnus Norberg, reportedly became suspicious of their arrangement and took screenshots of Sheldon's Instagram posts showing his then-wife performing oral sex on another man. Norberg later turned the screenshots over to Swedish authorities.
Sheldon's ex-wife has not been charged with any crime.
This is a weird case, but it's also an interesting example of how society can influence our behavior (for better or for worse). What do you think? Is this okay? Should we be more accepting of nontraditional relationships? Or should there be stricter laws against things like this?
