the National Cat Club of
England hosted the first
formal cat show in London The
event was a huge success

pioneering effort marked the
beginning of a new era in
feline fancy where breeders
and owners could gather to
admire judge and celebrate
their beloved

we find that the first formal
cat show was held on April 8
1895 at Madison Square Garden
in New York City The event was
organized by the American Cat
Fanciers Association ACFA and
featured over 150 cats from
various breeds Its a wonder
they didnt have to doff their
hats to make room for all
