The Tony Siddayao Awards A Celebration of Youthful Excellence
Manila, Philippines - The spotlight will shine brightly on young athletes as the San Miguel Corporation-Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) 2025 Awards Night approaches. Taking place on February 16 at the Diamond Hotel Manila, this year's event will honor 16 talented individuals who have excelled in their respective fields.
The Tony Siddayao Awards are presented by the Philippine Sports Commission and ArenaPlus to young athletes aged 17 and below who have achieved notable success in the past year. Named in honor of the late Tony Siddayao, a renowned sports editor and acknowledged as the Dean of Philippine sports writing, this award has become an integral part of the annual gala night.
Promising swimmer Behrouz Mohammad Mojdeh will lead the 16 awardees after his impressive performance in the 2025 season. Mojdeh's achievements include winning gold medals in the 200m backstroke at the Asian Open School Invitational Long Course Swimming Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
This year's Siddayao awardees also include weightlifters Jay-R Colonia and Jhodie Peralta, swimmers Sophia Garra, Titus Sia, and Patricia Mae Santor, golfers Zach Guico and Nicole Gan, chess players Jemaicah Mendoza and Christian Gian Karlo Arca, squash player Aerra JC Mae Relano, bowler Royce Wayne Padua, boxer Leo Mhar Lobrido, jiu-jitsu practitioner Bailey Heinsohn, and netter Tenny Madis.
Joining them on stage will be the Male and Female Athletes of the Year, Carlos Yulo and Alex Eala. Notably, Eala herself was a former Siddayao awardee, along with other notable athletes such as Kiefer Ravena, Dottie Ardina, Wesley So, Jacob Ang, and many others.
The event is supported by major sponsors including the Philippine Olympic Committee, Milo, Cignal, Premier Volleyball League, Philippine Basketball Association, Akari, Rain or Shine, Capital1 Solar Energy, and Acrocity.
