On Sunday, an engine issue caused smoke and flames on the right wing of a jetliner at Houston's main airport. As a result, passengers had to evacuate via slides and stairs. Flight 1382 to New York City was halted while still on the runway shortly after 8:30 a.m., with the Federal Aviation Administration stating that the Airbus A319 "received an indication about one engine."

The situation became even more alarming when orange flames and smoke were captured on video, obtained by KPRC-TV. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and passengers were bused back to the terminal.

This incident comes at a time of heightened concern for flight safety following two deadly plane crashes this year. However, United Airlines stated that they lined up a different aircraft to take customers to their destination at 2:00 p.m. CT.

The FAA will investigate the incident, and it serves as a reminder of the importance of regular maintenance checks and stringent safety protocols in the aviation industry.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
