Party-List Groups Take Center Stage ACT-CIS, 4Ps, and Duterte Youth Lead in OCTA Poll
As the May midterm polls approach, the Philippine political landscape is heating up with party-list groups vying for attention. In a recent survey conducted by OCTA Research, three notable party-list groups have emerged as front-runners - Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS), Pagtibayin at Palaguin ang Pangkabuhayang Pilipino (4Ps), and Duterte Youth. This post will delve into the results of the survey, highlighting the strengths of these party-list groups and what they bring to the table.
The Top Three ACT-CIS, 4Ps, and Duterte Youth
According to the OCTA Research survey, ACT-CIS took the top spot with 6.46% total vote among party-list groups running in the May midterm polls. This is a significant achievement for the group, which has been vocal about its commitment to combating crime and terrorism in Philippine society.
Closely behind was 4Ps, led by House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan and Rep. JC Abalos, with 5.62% of the total vote. With another nominee expected to join their ranks, it's likely that 4Ps will continue to gain momentum as election day approaches.
Rounding out the top three is Duterte Youth, which garnered 3.95% of the total vote. As a youth-oriented party-list group, Duterte Youth has been making waves with its promise to empower young Filipinos and provide them with opportunities for growth and development.
The Rest of the Pack Likely Winners and Dark Horses
While ACT-CIS, 4Ps, and Duterte Youth have taken the lead in the OCTA Research survey, several other party-list groups are also worth keeping an eye on. These include FPJ Panday Bayanihan, Tingog Sinirangan, Uswag Ilonggo, Galing sa Puso, Ako Bicol, Abang Lingkod, Kababaihan, and Kabalikatan para sa Kapakanan at Kaunlaran ng Bayan (4K) - all of which are expected to win at least two seats.
The Survey Methodology What Does it Mean?
The OCTA Research survey was conducted face-to-face among 1,200 respondents nationwide from January 25 to 31, 2025. The margin of error is plus or minus three percent across the country and six percent for Metro Manila, Balanced Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
What's Next?
As we move closer to election day, it will be interesting to see how these party-list groups continue to evolve and adapt to changing circumstances. Will ACT-CIS maintain its lead, or will 4Ps and Duterte Youth make a comeback? One thing is certain - the May midterm polls are shaping up to be an exciting and unpredictable ride.
