A Rare Gem Sells for $17 Million The Story of Ocean Dream

Last week, Christie's auction house made headlines when the largest blue-gr
blue-green diamond ever recorded, known as Ocean Dream, sold for a stunni
stunning $17 million. This exceptional gem has been captivating jewelry ent
enthusiasts for years, and its latest sale marks the beginning of an exciti
exciting new chapter.

So, what makes Ocean Dream so special? For starters, it's a significant s
size – weighing in at 5.5 carats. But its rarity is what truly sets it apar
apart. In fact, Christie's has named it one of the world's eight rarest dia
diamonds due to its unique blue-green color.

The gem was extracted from a mine in Central Africa in the 1990s and has be
been making the rounds ever since. It even had a stint at the Smithsonian I
Institution's Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C., where it was s
showcased as part of an exhibit on the splendor of diamonds.

Fast forward to last week, when Ocean Dream went up for auction once agai
again. This time around, three clients from different parts of the world bi
bid on the gem, with the winner choosing to remain anonymous. The final pri
price tag? A staggering $17.3 million – a new record for a blue-green diamo
diamond at auction.

So why is this diamond so valuable? According to Max Fawcett, global head o
of Christie's Jewelry, it's all about the color and size. A stone of this
color and size is extremely scarce, he said. To find something in 5 carat
carats of this quality and this color is truly remarkable.

It's clear that Ocean Dream is a gem like no other – and its latest sale
marks just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for this rare and valua
valuable diamond.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
