NU survives UST thriller, clinches No. 2 seed

NU's Thrilling Victory A Twice-to-Beat Advantage in UAAP Season 88 Men's
Men's Volleyball Final Four

The National University (NU) Bulldogs have secured a thrilling victory over
over the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Golden Spikers, clinching the seco
second seed and a twice-to-beat advantage in the UAAP Season 88 men's volle
volleyball Final Four. The 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 28-26 win not only snapped 
NU's two-game skid but also granted them renewed momentum heading into the 
playoffs.

According to NU head coach Dante Alinsunurin, Beyond securing the final pl
playoff incentive, the win was even sweeter for us as it allowed us to ente
enter the Final Four with renewed momentum. Team captain Peng Taguibolos e

With this victory, NU has secured a spot in the Final Four and will face US

In this thrilling match, NU's Leo Ordiales led the charge with 22 points on
on 19-of-44 attacks and three blocks, along with five excellent digs. Buddi
Buddin followed suit with 20 points on 19-of-38 kills, 21 excellent recepti
receptions, and six excellent digs. Jade Disquitado added 10 points, 15 exc
excellent receptions, and eight excellent digs.

Meanwhile, UST's Josh Ybañez led the Golden Spikers in the losing effort, f
finishing with 20 points on 19 attacks, along with 16 excellent receptions 
and eight excellent digs. Gboy de Vega produced 13 points, 10 excellent rec
receptions, and five excellent digs, while Sherwin Umandal added 12 points 
and four excellent digs.

The juxtaposition between NU's victory and UST's defeat is striking. While 
the Bulldogs celebrated their twice-to-beat advantage, the Golden Spikers w
were left to ponder what could have been. However, this loss has not deterr
deterred them from their goal of making it to the Finals.
