TOKYO, JAPAN - The newly appointed US Ambassador to Japan, George Glass, has expressed his confidence that the United States and Japan will reach an agreement on a trade deal. Following a meeting with Tokyo's envoy in Washington, Glass is extremely optimistic about the prospects of a successful negotiation.

Both countries possess highly sophisticated economies, ranking among the top five globally. Recent meetings between Japan's tariffs envoy Ryosei Akazawa and US officials, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, have laid the groundwork for future negotiations.
