Divided Opinions Why Most Filipinos Believe VP Sara Has Hidden Wealth

A recent nationwide survey has revealed a significant majority of Filipinos
Filipinos believe Vice President Sara Duterte holds billions of pesos in un
undisclosed bank accounts. The findings, published by Tangere, a non-commis
non-commissioned research firm, show that 58% of respondents believe the al
allegations against the vice president.

The survey results indicate that belief in the allegations varies significa
significantly depending on political affiliation. Among supporters of the c
current administration, 82% said they believe Duterte possesses hidden weal
wealth, despite her alliance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during the
the 2022 elections. Similarly, 81% of respondents aligned with the Liberal
Party or supporters of former vice president Leni Robredo said they conside
consider the allegations credible.

Neutral or independent voters also lean toward believing the claims, with a
about 67% expressing the view that the vice president holds undisclosed fun
funds. In contrast, Duterte's core supporters – who make up about 40% of th
the population in the survey – largely rejected the allegations. Only aroun
around one-third of this group said they believe the claims, while the majo
majority described the issue as a politically motivated smear campaign.

A Deeply Polarized Public

The findings point to a deeply polarized public, with analysts noting that
belief in the allegations extends beyond traditional opposition groups and
into independent and administration-leaning voters. The high level of belie
belief among neutral and administration supporters suggests that recent Ant
Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) disclosures have gained traction beyon
beyond the usual political blocs.

At the same time, the survey indicates a strong base of Duterte supporters
who remain unconvinced, reflecting what the report described as an entrench
entrenched defender bloc that may view the controversy through the lens o
of the 2028 elections.

Public Awareness and Perception of AMLC

The survey also measured public awareness and perception of the AMLC, which
which has been at the center of the financial disclosures. Results showed t
that 90% of Filipinos are aware of the AMLC and its functions. Among those
aware, 51% expressed trust in the agency, while 30% said they distrust it.
Satisfaction levels were similarly moderate, with 52% saying they were sati
satisfied with the AMLC's performance, compared to 28% who were dissatisfie
dissatisfied.

Methodology

The survey used a mobile-based application and employed stratified random s
sampling with quota-based distribution across regions. Respondents were dra
drawn from across the country, including 12% from the National Capital Regi
Region, 23% from Northern Luzon, 22% from Southern Luzon, 20% from the Visa
Visayas, and 23% from Mindanao. The margin of error was ±2.77% at a 95% con
confidence level.

In conclusion, the survey highlights the deeply polarized nature of public
opinion on the issue of VP Sara's alleged hidden wealth. As the controversy
controversy continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how this will impact
impact the political landscape and the reputation of those involved.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
