Miss Universe Philippines 2025 The Search Begins!

The wait is over! The search for Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2025 has officially kicked off, featuring an impressive 69 contestants from across the country. According to Voltaire Tayag, MUPH executive vice president, the organization aims to leverage its platform to promote tourism in a meaningful way.

We don't just pay lip service to our love for the Philippines; we actually take our delegates on site visits so they can truly experience and appreciate the beauty of our country, Tayag explained.

In light of recent controversy surrounding non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in pageants, MUPH has partnered with a law firm to clearly explain the contracts signed by its contestants.

This edition is particularly challenging, as it features a mix of seasoned pageant veterans and existing national and international titleholders, noted Mags Cue, MUPH vice president for global and national search.

This year's competition boasts comeback queens Ma. Ahtisa Manalo from Quezon Province, who finished as second runner-up in the previous edition, and Katrina Llegago from Taguig, who placed second runner-up in 2022. Furthermore, former Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 winner Teresita Ssen Wynwyn Marquez of Muntinlupa City is set to make history as the first mother to represent the Philippines at Miss Universe.

The MUPH organization also announced that Areilla Arida will take over as its new national director, succeeding Jonas Gaffud and Shamcey Supsup, Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up. Arida herself was crowned Miss Universe Philippines in 2013 and went on to place third runner-up at the pageant held in Moscow, Russia.

The highly anticipated finals night is set to take place on August 10 at the Mall of Asia arena.
