Social media is in focus as a New Mexico lawsuit against Meta Platforms (f[2D[K
(formerly Facebook) proceeds, with the case potentially influencing how lar[3D[K
large social networks handle user content.

The lawsuit centers around an incident where two teenagers from Gallup, NM [K
allegedly posted threats on Facebook leading to a lockdown at Gallup High S[1D[K
School. The parents of one of those students have accused Facebook and othe[4D[K
other platforms of failing to implement effective moderation strategies tha[3D[K
that would prevent such events from occurring.
