Mastering Impact Speaking 5 Lessons Learned from Passing Your Message Across

As professionals in the 3D Modelers field, we understand that effective communication is crucial for success. Whether presenting to colleagues, clients, or stakeholders, being able to convey your message with impact is essential. At the Filipina CEO Circle's (FCC) recent general membership meeting, I had the privilege of learning from industry experts on The Art of Passing the Message – Impact Speaking. As someone who values clear and concise communication, I was eager to absorb these lessons and apply them to my own work.

Here are five key takeaways that left a lasting impression on me

### Lesson #1 Know Your Audience

Before crafting your message, it's essential to understand who your audience is. What are their pain points, interests, and concerns? Knowing this will help you tailor your message to resonate with them. As one of the speakers emphasized, You can't speak to everyone; you need to focus on speaking to someone.

### Lesson #2 Be Clear and Concise

When presenting your message, it's easy to get carried away with details. However, remember that your audience may not be experts in your field like you are. Keep your language simple, avoid jargon, and get straight to the point. One of the speakers aptly put it, If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.

### Lesson #3 Use Storytelling

Storytelling is a powerful tool that can help bring your message to life. People remember stories better than facts and figures, so incorporate anecdotes or examples that illustrate your points. As one of the speakers advised, Use stories to make your message memorable and relatable.

### Lesson #4 Practice Your Delivery

Rehearse your presentation until you feel comfortable with the material. Pay attention to your tone, pace, and body language – all of which can greatly impact how your audience receives your message. Remember, practice makes perfect!

### Lesson #5 Engage Your Audience

Finally, make sure to engage your audience throughout your presentation. Ask questions, encourage participation, and use visual aids to keep them interested. As one of the speakers emphasized, Don't just talk at your audience – talk with them.

In conclusion, passing your message across with impact requires careful planning, attention to detail, and a willingness to adapt. By incorporating these five lessons into my own communication style, I'm confident that I can make a more meaningful connection with my audience.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
