How To Use Taiwan Detects 62 Chinese Aircraft As US Ships Transit Waters

In a sign of increasing tensions in the region, Taiwan detected 62 Chinese aircraft flying in a formation around the island over the past two days. This comes as several US Navy ships transit the waters near Taiwan.

The Taiwanese military says they tracked the flights and that they were highly unusual for China to send so many planes at one time. They believe it's an attempt by Beijing to intimidate them.

Meanwhile, American naval forces are sending a clear message of their own they will not be intimidated by such displays of military power from China. Several US ships have been seen transiting the waters near Taiwan recently, including the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group and the USS America amphibious assault ship.

This show of force comes amid growing concerns about Chinese aggression in the region. The Biden administration has said it's committed to protecting the Indo-Pacific region from such threats.
