French President Emmanuel Macron has announced he will host a coalition of the willing meeting with foreign leaders to discuss how to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

In a statement released by the Elysée Palace, Macron said that he was inviting leaders from Europe and beyond to come together in Paris to work out a plan for ending the war.

I am convinced that we must take all necessary measures to stop this war, Macron said. It is our duty as Europeans and as citizens of the world.

The meeting will take place on March 31st, with representatives from Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Canada, Japan, Australia, India, Indonesia, South Africa, Nigeria, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Guyana attending. The United Kingdom will also be represented by Prime Minister Theresa May.

Macron emphasized that the purpose of the meeting was not just to discuss sanctions against Russia but to find a broader solution that would allow for peace in Ukraine. We must use all tools at our disposal, he said.

A spokesperson for German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she looked forward to participating in the meeting and working together with other leaders to end the conflict.

We are ready to do whatever it takes to achieve this goal, the spokesperson said.

The meeting comes as NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has called on all allies to increase their military presence in Europe, citing Russia's invasion of Ukraine as a threat to security across the continent.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
