DMW Assures Aid, Justice for 2 OFWs Killed in Lebanon

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has extended assistance to the fami
families of two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who tragically lost their 
lives in Beirut, Lebanon on April 15. This move underscores the government'
government's commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of our countryme
countrymen working abroad.

A Tragic Incident

According to a statement from the DMW, the pair was killed by their employe
employer during a hostage incident in the Lebanese capital. The victims, bo
both long-time household service workers in the residence, were fatally sho
shot during the incident. The employer has been arrested and is currently u
under police custody pending formal charges.

Government Support

Undersecretaries Bernard Olalia and Felicitas Bay will personally visit the
the victims' families to convey their condolences and assure them of govern
government support. This gesture highlights the importance of empathy and c
