The Philippine Palace has responded to reports of a plot by former military
military officials to oust President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., stating that suc
such attempts are nothing new.

In a statement issued in response to Senator Panfilo Ping Lacson's disclo
disclosure over the weekend, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Under
Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that efforts to destabilize the gov
government have been ongoing for some time. According to Lacson, several re
retired military officials are recruiting personnel to roll out plans to ov
overthrow Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte over their respective cont
controversies.

That has been news for a long time, Castro said in Filipino during a brie
briefing. They have been wanting to destabilize our president for a long t

Castro also emphasized that Lacson, as a seasoned investigator, would not m
