China's President Xi Jinping has spoken with his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, where he urged the latter to take on a more central role in international affairs. This comes as global tensions continue to rise.

Xi made it clear that he wants to see Brazil assume a greater and more central role in international affairs, according to a statement from the Brazilian president's office. The two leaders discussed various topics during their conversation, including the need for multilateral cooperation to address global challenges such as climate change and pandemics.

Lula also emphasized the importance of dialogue and negotiation in resolving conflicts, particularly those related to Ukraine. He expressed his concern about the situation in that country and called for a peaceful resolution through diplomacy.

The call comes amid growing tensions between Russia and the West over its invasion of Ukraine. The United States has urged other countries not to engage with Russian officials on the matter unless they are working directly with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Lula, who took office in January after four years out of politics, has made it clear that he wants Brazil to take a more prominent role on the world stage. He has already held talks with other leaders such as US President Joe Biden and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Brazil is a member of several international organizations including the United Nations (UN), World Trade Organization (WTO), and G20 group of leading economies.

Enjoy the little things in life. For one day, you may look back and realize they were the big things. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
