As we approach Women's Month, I am reminded of our organization's steadfast commitment to promoting GREAT women – an acronym that stands for Gender Responsive Economic Actions for the Transformation of Women. What began as a mouthful has evolved into a powerful movement, empowering women to take control of their lives and communities.

In 2025, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) concluded its support, but we remained resolute in our mission. We rebranded our initiative as GREAT, reflecting our enduring commitment to making a lasting impact.

What Does GREAT Mean?

Simply put, GREAT represents our unwavering dedication to creating an environment where women can thrive economically. This involves providing them with the tools, resources, and support necessary to become leaders in their communities. By doing so, we not only empower women but also transform societies as a whole.
