An outbreak of hantavirus on a cruise ship has captured the world's attenti[7D[K
attention. The MV Hondius was at the center of this health scare since May [K
2, when the UN's health agency was informed that three passengers had died [K
and the suspected cause was hantavirus.
International efforts were made to control the outbreak as it threatened th[2D[K
the lives of many people on board. However, two Singapore residents who had[3D[K
had been on board a cruise ship affected by hantavirus tested negative, pro[3D[K
providing some relief.
Despite testing negative, the two men remained in quarantine for 30 days as[2D[K
as precautionary measures were put into place to ensure no further spread o[1D[K
of the disease.
