UAAP Volleyball Shaina Nitura's Record-Breaking Performance Driven by Team Goals

In a remarkable display of skill and dedication, Adamson super rookie Shaina Nitura has set a new record in the UAAP women's volleyball scoring with an impressive 38 points. While this achievement is certainly noteworthy, Nitura insists that her primary goal remains the same to win games for the Lady Falcons and contribute to their quest for the Final Four.

Nitura's record-breaking performance came as Adamson defeated the UE Lady Warriors on March 16, marking a much-needed turnaround after a four-game losing streak. With this victory, the Lady Falcons rose to sixth place in the standings with a 3-5 record.

When asked about her remarkable achievement, Nitura downplayed any individual accolades, emphasizing the team's collective goals. Since the start of the UAAP, my goal has always been to win – not to focus on individual records or anything like that. But I'm still grateful for what I've achieved, and I know it's a blessing from God.

Despite being praised by top UAAP players such as Alyssa Valdez and Sisi Rondina, who previously held the scoring record of 35 points, Nitura remains focused on her team's objectives. It's a bonus, but the main goal remains the same we want to win. We want to win games, not set records or anything else. Ultimately, we want to contribute to getting to the Final Four.

When asked about the pressure of setting new records, Nitura remained unflappable. No pressure at all. I don't really think about that stuff much because the more you focus on it, the more pressure it creates. If it's meant to happen, then it will; if not, it's okay. Our team's goal is to win, not to focus on breaking records.

With her sights set on leading the Lady Falcons to success, Nitura remains a force to be reckoned with in the UAAP volleyball scene.
